MAX DURANTE

He professionally begins the dj career in 1987 in Rome.
Are exactly 23 years that he is behind the desk and makes us sweat.
Appreciated for his technique and for his ability
to mix groove and experimentation, he is one of the most great exponents
of electronic music of quality’ ‘’ MADE In ITALY ’’; beloved and respected
both in italy and to the foreign countries.
In 1991/92 together with the D’arcangelo brothers he has produced his first
record projects on Hot Trax (acv sublabel), the first Italian techno label.
Respected for his record productions and for his abilty in the mix, he has produced
more’ of 25 records and he has realized around 100 tracks in the best
international labels. He reached the first place in the DMC English chart
with his parallel record project called MEKA on the Some Bizarre records,
the legendary English label that has launched the DEPECHE Mode, MARC ALMOND,
Cabaret VOLTAIRE, etc…
In 1998 on the daily paper ‘’ NEUE ZUERCHER ZEITUNG ’’ of Zurich,
the Swiss journalist LILIAN FELLMANN wrote an article on MAX DURANTE :
‘’his hands are so fast that is difficult to follow his movements,
his scratches are balm for the eyes and for the ears ’’…
In 2002 THE WIRE ‘’the English magazine of avangard’‘has named him the most
interesting DJ of Europe and the best artist during the BIOS festival in Athens (Greece).
In 2003 he has produced a great electro record with his friend KEITH
TUCKER (AUX88) on the English label of BILLY NASTY the ELECTRIX RECORDS.
This record has been named the best electro record of the years 2000 and
it will remain a electro hit .
International DJ as LAURENT GARNIER, ROLANDO, TIGA, THE HACKER, etc…
they have simply defined a marvelous record to have.
With this record he has received a great success that has brought him
to play to the legendary FABRIC club in London, where they still speak
of his redhot session…
In 2007 his last techno record on the TRUCKSTOP76th, has received good success,
Dave CLARKE played this record several times and has named it one of his favorite
techno record of the year inviting all those people who made techno has take
it as example;).
He has collaborated and co-produced records with some of the best artists of the international
electronic scene like Dj Hell, Anthony Rother, keith Tucker (AUX88), Prefuse 73,
Alexander Robotnick, etc… With Anthony Rother he has co-produced a record on the PSI49NET
that has become a cult record of this label. MAX DURANTE is one of the hinges of the 90’s,
of the rave generation, he is a myth of the 90’s.
He has worked in the best Italian RAVE from 1990 to 1994. His sound and his presence have
been fundamental for the Italian techno/electronic scene.
He regularly work in the best clubs and in the best European festivals from the 1992.
His exhibitions are famous in Europe and graces to his technique and to his bright performances
that the press has named him ‘’THE WIZARD OF THE DECKS’’ the magician of the console.
